Solution 1: Check the system date and time on the computer.<\/h2>\n
An incorrect system date or time on your computer can interfere with the update process.<\/p>\n
To check the system date and time on the computer:<\/p>\n

- Right-click your system\u00a0clock on your desktop screen and selectAdjust Date\/Time<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select\u00a0Change date and time<\/strong>and specify the current date and time.<\/li>\n
- Select\u00a0OK<\/strong><\/li>\n
- Close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop.<\/li>\n
- Run the update of QuickBooks Desktop again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Solution 2: \u00a0Check your Internet Connection Settings<\/h2>\n
Your internet connection could be the source of update issues.<\/p>\n
To test your secure Internet connection, open a web browser and visit\u00a0Chase banking.<\/p>\n
If you cannot open the Chase banking page, you cannot get updates from QuickBooks. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for help.<\/p>\n
If you can view the Chase banking web site, start QuickBooks Desktop and take the following steps:<\/p>\n

- From the Help<\/strong>\u00a0menu, select\u00a0Internet Connection Setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select Use my computer’s Internet connection settings to establish a connection when this application accesses the Internet<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Click Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select\u00a0Advanced Connection Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- On the Advanced<\/strong>\u00a0tab, select\u00a0Restore Advanced Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select Ok<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select Done<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Update QuickBooks Desktop again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Keep the following in mind:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Download accelerators can interfere with the download process. Before downloading updates, be sure to disable your download accelerator. Contact your ISP for more information.<\/li>\n
- If you use a dial-up connection, verify that the minimum connection speed is 28.8 kilobits per second (Kb\/s).<\/li>\n
- If you use America On line (AOL), log on to AOL with the master login name, if possible, and be sure that the Parental Controls settings are not enabled. For more information, see AOL’s online support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Internet security or personal firewall application settings<\/h2>\n
Internet security or firewall settings can interfere with updates.<\/p>\n
Verify the configuration of your Internet security and personal firewall software settings.<\/p>\n
Ports 80 and 443 must be enabled, and access must be provided to the following files:<\/p>\n

- AutoBackup.exe<\/li>\n
- Dbmlsync.exe<\/li>\n
- DBManager.exe<\/li>\n
- FimeManagement.exe<\/li>\n
- FileMovement.exe<\/li>\n
- IntuitSyncManager.exe<\/li>\n
- QBCFMontiorService.exe<\/li>\n
- QBDBMgr.exe<\/li>\n
- QBDBMgrN.exe<\/li>\n
- QBGDSPlugin.exe<\/li>\n
- QBLaunch.exe<\/li>\n
- QBServerUtilityMgr.exe<\/li>\n
- QBW32.exe<\/li>\n
- QuickBooksMessaging.exe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
If all these ports are used by some other processes (which is very unlikely), the QuickBooks Database server uses a fallback port, 56719.<\/p>\n
