Here\u2019s how to fix this so you can take payments again and get back to business. How to fix Error TD500<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"toc-hId-1674405108\">Option 1: Uninstall QuickBooks 2016 and install the repair file<\/h3>\n<p>Choose this option only if you no longer use QuickBooks 2016. Uninstalling QuickBooks does not erase your company data file.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In QuickBooks, press the\u00a0<strong>F2<\/strong>\u00a0key. Make a note of which version of QuickBooks you&#8217;re in.<\/li>\n<li>Close QuickBooks. If you use more than one version, make sure all of them are closed.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Windows\u00a0<strong>Start<\/strong>\u00a0icon. Search for \u201cControl Panel\u201d and open\u00a0<strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Programs and Features<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Uninstall a Program<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>QuickBooks Desktop 2016<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>QuickBooks Enterprise 16.0\u00a0<\/strong>and then\u00a0<strong>Uninstall\/Change<\/strong>. Follow the instructions on the screen. If you don\u2019t see this option, sign out of Windows and sign back in as a Windows admin.<\/li>\n<li>After you uninstall QuickBooks 2016,<br \/>\ndownload the repair file. Save it somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click the file to unzip it.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click\u00a0<strong>quickbooks_fix_tdtool.bat<\/strong>\u00a0and select\u00a0<strong>Run as Administrator<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>When it\u2019s finished, open the version of QuickBooks that had the error.<\/li>\n<li>Process your customer\u2019s payment like you normally do.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"toc-hId--877751853\">Option 2: Update all your versions of QuickBooks and install the repair file<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Make a note of which version of QuickBooks you\u2019re in.
