Bank Reconciliation Process<\/h2>\n

Follow the steps below to complete your bank reconciliation process. Before you start, make sure you have your bank statement to hand.<\/p>\n

  1. Click the\u00a0Gear icon<\/b>, then\u00a0Reconcile<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  2. Select the account you want to reconcile from the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n
  3. Then, enter the Ending Balance <\/b>and Ending Date <\/b>of your bank statement. (If this account was reconciled before, look below the\u00a0Ending date<\/b>\u00a0field at the last statement ending date, making\u00a0sure you’re reconciling the following month’s statement.)<\/li>\n
  4. Click\u00a0Start reconciling<\/b>.<\/li>\n
  5. On the Reconcile <\/b>page, you’ll see all the transactions that you’ve entered into QuickBooks for the selected period.<\/li>\n
  6. Once you’ve completed the process correctly, the Difference <\/b>amount should be ‘0’.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Bank Reconciliation Problems<\/h2>\n

    If the Difference <\/b>amount is not ‘0’, here are a few things you can do:<\/p>\n

    1. Make sure that the total number of transactions on QuickBooks are the same as the total number of transactions in QuickBooks.<\/li>\n
    2. If the total number of transactions\u00a0do not match<\/b>, make sure the dates entered for each transaction in QuickBooks matches the date for each transaction in your bank statement. If there are any missing QuickBooks transactions, click on the Plus Sign (+) <\/b>at the top right corner, and add the transactions you need.<\/li>\n
    3. If the total number of transactions\u00a0match<\/b>, make sure that the amount on each QuickBooks transaction matches the amount on each transaction in your bank statement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
