If IE is not set up correctly, the following problems may occur:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blank page displayed or navigation to web page canceled<\/li>\n<li>Error when connecting or performing web-based connections<\/li>\n<li>QuickBooks Desktop connectivity issues<\/li>\n<li>Data missing or web pages incorrectly loading<\/li>\n<li>Other internet-based connection issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be sure to restart your computer if you are having problems accessing web-based features. Sometimes this may solve simple connectivity issues and should also be performed if the changes made below fail to apply.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId--907540222\" class=\"section-title\">Operate Internet Explorer in Compatibility View<\/h2>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<ol>\n<li>In Internet Explorer, select the\u00a0<strong>Gear icon<\/strong>\u00a0at the top right and then choose\u00a0<strong>Compatibility View settings<\/strong>. You can also go to the\u00a0<strong>Tools<\/strong>\u00a0drop down (or press Alt+T on your keyboard to access the\u00a0<strong>Tools\u00a0<\/strong>option).<\/li>\n<li>On the Compatibility View settings screen, check the\u00a0<strong>Display all websites in Compatibility View\u00a0<\/strong>box and click\u00a0<strong>Close<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId-835270113\"><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId--1716886848\" class=\"section-title\">Change the Internet Explorer options<\/h2>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<ol>\n<li>Open Internet Explorer and select the\u00a0<strong>Gear icon<\/strong>\u00a0at the top right.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Internet options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In the Internet Options window, you can change the following:<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 id=\"toc-hId--170590018\" class=\"section-title\">Add Intuit to the Trusted Sites<\/h3>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Security\u00a0<\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Trusted Sites\u00a0<\/strong>and then click the\u00a0<strong>Sites<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/li>\n<li>In the Add this website to the zone field, enter\u00a0<i>https:\/\/*.intuit.com<\/i>\u00a0and click\u00a0<strong>Add<\/strong>. Repeat this step for\u00a0<i>https:\/\/*.quickbooks.com<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Close<\/strong>\u00a0to get out of the Trusted sites window.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Custom level&#8230;<\/strong>\u00a0then scroll down to Miscellaneous.<\/li>\n<li>Under Allow Cross domain requests, choose\u00a0<strong>Enable<\/strong>, then click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Apply<\/strong>\u00a0then\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>\u00a0to close the Internet Options window.<\/li>\n<li>Restart Internet Explorer to apply the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId-1768733822\"><\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"toc-hId--979936644\" class=\"section-title\">Pop-up settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Privacy\u00a0<\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Advanced\u00a0<\/strong>to bring up the Advanced Cookie Options window.<\/li>\n<li>Place a check-mark in the\u00a0<strong>Override Automatic Cookie Handling\u00a0<\/strong>box.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that\u00a0<strong>Accept\u00a0<\/strong>is selected for First-Party and Third-Party cookies.<\/li>\n<li>Place a check-mark in the\u00a0<strong>Always Allow Session Cookies\u00a0<\/strong>box.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>\u00a0to close this window.<\/li>\n<li>If there is a Pop-up Blocker section, be sure this item is unchecked. We use security pop-ups to inform you of actions regarding the transaction and they must be allowed for the process to work correctly.<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>\u00a0button to save these settings.<br \/>\n<strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Once payments account access is completed and has been added to the pop-up settings, you can change these settings back to default if necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId-959387196\"><\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"toc-hId--1789283270\" class=\"section-title\">Security settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Security\u00a0<\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Internet\u00a0<\/strong>as the zone to change.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Custom Level<\/strong>. The Internet Zone dialog box opens.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to\u00a0<strong>ActiveX Controls and Plugins<\/strong>\u00a0and enable (or set to Prompt) the following items:\n<ul>\n<li>Binary and script behaviors<\/li>\n<li>Download signed ActiveX controls<\/li>\n<li>Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins<\/li>\n<li>Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>OK\u00a0<\/strong>to save your settings and exit the\u00a0<strong>Security Settings &#8211; Trusted Sites Zone\u00a0<\/strong>dialog box.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId-150040570\"><\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"toc-hId-981176111\" class=\"section-title\">Advanced settings<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Advanced<\/strong>\u00a0tab.<\/li>\n<li>In the Settings section, scroll down to Security, and then deselect\u00a0<strong>Do not save encrypted pages to disk.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>\u00a0to save all changes and close Internet Options.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>To enable TLS 1.2:<\/strong>\u00a0go to the Advanced tab and locate\u00a0<strong>TLS 1.2\u00a0<\/strong>and then select the\u00a0<strong>Use TLS 1.2<\/strong>box. Click\u00a0<strong>Apply\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Save.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId-225970509\"><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"toc-hId-1968780844\" class=\"section-title\">If using Microsoft Edge<\/h2>\n<p>Starting with Windows 10, Microsoft is phasing out Internet Explorer and moving to Edge. Internet Explorer is still in Windows 10 but it\u2019s built in the back end. QuickBooks still utilizes it by default.
