Step 1: Get your company file ready<\/h2>\n

  1. Remove any memos longer than 50 characters or that contain special characters such as !@#$%^&*.\n
      \n
    1. Go to the\u00a0Reports<\/strong>\u00a0menu, then select\u00a0Custom Transaction Detail Report<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. From the\u00a0Dates<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down, select\u00a0All Dates<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Double-click on a transaction with a memo.<\/li>\n
    4. Delete the memo, then select\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. Close the transaction window.<\/li>\n
    6. Repeat steps c to e for all the other transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    7. Re-sort lists.<\/li>\n
    8. Run verify and rebuild on your company file.<\/li>\n
    9. Close QuickBooks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Step 2: Convert your company file<\/h2>\n

      1. Update QuickBooks for Mac to the latest release.<\/li>\n
      2. Open the file as the administrator.<\/li>\n
      3. Go to the\u00a0File<\/strong>\u00a0menu, then select\u00a0Export<\/strong>. Select\u00a0To QuickBooks for Windows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      4. If you are prompted to verify before backup, select\u00a0Skip Verify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      5. Name the file and choose the folder you want to save it in, then select\u00a0Save<\/strong>.
        \nNote:<\/strong>\u00a0Make sure you don’t add special characters in the file name.<\/li>\n
      6. Enter and confirm your password, then select\u00a0OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      7. Select\u00a0OK<\/strong>\u00a0on the confirmation window.<\/li>\n
      8. Move the file to your Windows computer by using any storage device such as DVD, flash drive, etc.<\/li>\n
      9. Restore the file in QuickBooks for Windows.<\/li>\n
