Go to click on a program on your Windows taskbar and realize it\u2019s missing? Sometimes, the taskbar will vanish and you won\u2019t see anything at the bottom of the screen, but everything else is gone.<\/p>\n

So how do you get your taskbar back? Well, there are a couple of ways you can restore the taskbar, but it\u2019s also a good idea to know what can cause the taskbar to disappear.<\/p>\n

In my experience, there are four main reason why your taskbar might disappear:<\/p>\n

1. The taskbar is set to auto-hide and is not visible\r\n2. The explorer.exe process has crashed and the taskbar is completely gone\r\n3. The display resolution or main display changed and caused the taskbar to go off the screen\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/pre>\n
Method 1 \u2013 Unhide Taskbar<\/h2>\n
If your taskbar is hidden, it should automatically show up to the very bottom of the screen. However, if something has gone wrong and this isn\u2019t working anymore, you can turn off auto-hide.<\/p>\n
To do this, Firstly you would normally have to right-click on your taskbar, but since that is missing, we have to go through the Control Panel and click on\u00a0Taskbar and Navigation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That will open up the taskbar properties dialog box where you will want to go ahead and uncheck the\u00a0Auto-hide the taskbar<\/strong>\u00a0box.<\/p>\n

Just in case, you should also check to make sure the taskbar is located at the bottom of the screen. If it\u2019s on auto-hide and on the left or right of the screen, you simply might not have noticed it.<\/p>\n
