QuickBooks Online Accountant saves you time so you don\u2019t have to edit them one at a time. Use the reclassify tool to make the same changes to multiple transactions at once.<\/p>\n<h2>Types of transactions you can\u2019t move<\/h2>\n<p>You can use the reclassify tool for most types of transactions. However, there are certain types of transactions that can\u2019t be changed since they\u2019re tied to specific accounts and features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can change the class for\u00a0<strong>invoices<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>sales<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>receipts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>checks<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>bills<\/strong>\u00a0with items (products or services) on them. However, you can\u2019t change the accounts.<\/li>\n<li>You can\u2019t change the payment account (bank or credit card) for\u00a0<strong>expenses<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>You can\u2019t change the account or class for\u00a0<strong>inventory adjustments<\/strong>\u00a0since they\u2019re connected to your inventory shrinkage and asset accounts.<\/li>\n<li>You can change the expense account for\u00a0<strong>billable expenses<\/strong>, but not the\u00a0<strong>income account<\/strong>\u00a0for the related income transactions.<\/li>\n<li>You can manage your\u00a0<strong>payroll transactions<\/strong>\u00a0in the Payroll menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Reclassify and move transactions<\/h2>\n<p>You can use the reclassify tool to move transactions to similar accounts or change their class completely.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open your client\u2019s QuickBooks Online company. Select the\u00a0<strong>briefcase<\/strong>\u00a0(Accountant Tools) icon. Then select\u00a0<strong>Reclassify Transactions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the\u00a0<strong>Account types<\/strong>\u00a0drop-down menu, select\u00a0<strong>Profit and Loss<\/strong>\u00a0to see income and expense accounts. Or select\u00a0<strong>Balance Sheet<\/strong>\u00a0to see your asset, liability, and equity accounts.\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>From the Account list, select the account with the transactions you want to change.<\/li>\n<li>Use the filters to set the date range, class, transaction type, customer, or vendor.
