While updating QuickBooks Desktop or downloading a payroll update, you receive one of these error messages:

·       Error 15271: The payroll replace did no longer whole successfully. A file can’t be validated.

·         Error 15271: The update did not complete successfully. A file cannot be validated.

These errors appear when a file cannot be validated.

To unravel this error, you need to Turn off the User Account Control (UAC) in Windows.

If turning off UAC doesn’t get to the bottom of the problem, Comply these steps:

  1. Close and reopen QuickBooks.
  2. If the QuickBooks Update Service message window appears, select Install Later.
  3. Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
  4. Close and reopen QuickBooks.
  5. If you are induced to install an update, select Install Now. After the set up completes, QuickBooks Desktop opens. If you are precipitated to restart the computer instead, choose Yes.
  6. Update your payroll tax tables.
  7. If you still receive the error,Install/uninstall QuickBooks Desktop in Selective Startup.
