Why can’t I get any data on this report ‘Sales by Location Detail Report’?

We can certainly understand your frustration and desire for a simple report that shows this information. about Why can’t I get any data on this report ‘Sales by Location Detail Report’? It would be a very helpful report.

If you haven’t already, I would STRONGLY recommend you submit feedback for this report to the engineers by clicking the Gear icon and selecting Feedback.  This is the best way to get the request directly to the engineers.

That being said, there is another way to create the report without having to export to Excel first if you’re using QuickBooks Online Plus.

While there isn’t any sales report that pulls the address info from the customer profile, QBO Plus has the ability to use Classes and/or Locations.  What you could do is create a location or class for each state.  Then when you create the sale assign a class or location for the state the customer is in.

Then run a Sales by Customer Detail report.  In that report you have the option to group by Class or Location.

I know this isn’t as streamlined as you’d like.  Just offering another option.
